The annual one-day dissemination event organised by the Energy Harvesting Network is being held on 5th April 2017 at Manchester Town Hall.
This annual event is hosted by the Energy Harvesting Network, working with the KTN Energy Harvesting SIG, bringing together academics, industrialists and end-users of energy harvesting technologies. This year's event is supported by KTN and sponsored by 8Power Ltd and Perpetuum Ltd. The EH Network has registered members from over 400 companies and institutions.
The event will be a valuable opportunity to:
- Hear from industrial and academic experts on a wide variety of EH topics
- See technology demonstrators from industry and academia
- See posters from researchers
- Network with a broad mix of industrial and academic attendees
The event will provide a platform for disseminating energy-harvesting advances and applications in the UK and contain presentations from speakers in academia and industry. Topics covered include practical applications of energy harvesting from, for example, mechanical/vibration sources and thermoelectric energy harvesting, and systems solutions including aspects such as power management and energy storage. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Steve Beeby from Southampton, Prof. Paul Mitcheson from Imperial College London, Roy Freeland from Perpetuum, Dr Antony Rix from 8power as well as Sandra Fernandez and David Earle from McLaren Applied Technologies. The tentative agenda can be found at http://eh-network.org/events/eh2017.php
The event also has limited space for posters from researchers and postgraduate research students. The registration fee is waived for students that present a poster, on a first-come first-served basis. Student posters will be judged, and a 'Best Poster' prize of a GBP100 Amazon voucher awarded at the end of the event. Anyone wishing to present a poster should email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Registration for the event costs GBP60, although a discounted rate of GBP40 is available for attendees from academia and members of KTN. There is a limited number of exhibition tables available for table-top exhibitions and demonstrations. The exhibitor registration fee is GBP300 and includes a short 'elevator pitch'.
