Energy harvesting stroller

ZoomEnergy harvesting stroller
Strollers are all the same and haven't changed for decades according to 4moms, a US based child product company who have created the Origami power-folding stroller. At the touch of a button, it folds itself. It's also a cell phone-charging, mileage-counting, LCD-sporting stroller, with generators in the rear wheels that charge it as you walk. The Origami has daytime running lights, pathway lights for low-light conditions, and sensors that detect when a child's in the seat (so it'll never fold by accident). It's the world's first power-folding stroller: at the touch of a button, it folds itself. To open or close the stroller, simply push the button.

According to 4moms, products for children consume millions of alkaline batteries each year, and 4moms didn't want to add to that total. The Origami has built-in generators so the system recharges itself while you walk, a short walk is all it takes to keep the battery fully charged. The battery then operates the folding mechanism together with charging mobile devices.

In addition to the energy generating feature, the Origami has built-in sensors so that it will not fold with a child in the seat. Daytime running lights keep it visible at all times, and pathway lights can be used in low-light conditions. An LCD interface informs how much charge remains in the battery and also displays distances walked.
