Glossary: Oligomer

A chain-like monomer organic compound. The best charge carrier mobilities in Thin Film Transistor Networks TFTCs being prepared as alternatives to silicon chips in RFID etc employ oligomer semiconducting molecules but they have had to be deposited under vacuum, limiting the potential cost advantage. IBM is developing oligomer precursors as inks however.
